
Paithalmala
About
Paithalmala is the highest peak in Kannur district with an altitude of 4500 ft above sea level. Lying at the Kerala- Karnataka Border and forming a part of the Kodagu range of hills in the Western Ghats. The unique ecosystem of this hill with grasslands interspersed with Sholai forests makes it a stunning region to explore and experience. The trek up to the peak- which spans a distance of around 2 Kms is not only invigorating but also one that provides an opportunity to interact with the biodiversity of the Western Ghats.

Palakkayam Thattu

Another peak nearby, that forms an excellent viewpoint near Paithalmala, at an altitude of 3500 ft above sea level. The place offers not just a beautiful viewpoint, it is also an amazing picnic spot.

Ezharakkundu Waterfalls
